Tycho Brahe Planetarium

It is not every day that Denmark has a visit from astronauts. However, in April 2007, no fewer than five astronauts appeared at the Tycho Brahe Planetarium in Copenhagen, and Weibel Scientific was a co-sponsor of the prestigious event.

Christer Fuglesang – the first Scandinavian in space – was among the visiting astronauts, all of whom were crew members of the 2006 Space Shuttle Discovery mission STS-116. At the Planetarium, the astronauts vividly described their thirteen-day journey to the International Space Station, and Danish companies, including Weibel Scientific, exhibited their ground-breaking contributions to the global space initiative.

”Few people are aware of the Danish activities in space, and there is room for enormous growth in this sector related to both research opportunities and business ventures. Weibel Scientific is one of the serious players on the scene, delivering an important piece of the puzzle when it comes to space travel,” explains Michael Linden-Vørnle, astrophysicist at the planetarium.

Tycho Brahe Planetarium is Denmark’s most advanced center for popularizing astronomy and space research, and in collaboration with both national and international partners (e.g. the European Space Agency), the Planetarium actively promotes space exploration. Learn more at www.tycho.dk.
