Team Weibel Victorious at Sea
Team Weibel raced for honor instead of fancy prizes when they in April set sail on Oresund – the strait between Sweden and Denmark. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark also took part in the race.
Team Weibel has won a prestigious race on Oresund. The race was held to inaugurate six new boats of the type J-80. In the future they will be used to train talented young Danish yachtsmen in the Royal Danish Yacht Club. Weibel Scientific has co-sponsored the project.
His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark also took part in the race. He is a veteran of several World Cup competitions in sailing.
Team Weibel successfully secured the victory at sea, even ahead of His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark. Weibel Scientific’s Chairman of the Board, Erik Tingleff Larsen, says:
”We are very proud of this victory, but truth be told, we had several experienced crew members from America’s Cup on board, and they made quite a difference. It was a beautiful day, and the Crown Prince’s participation added a real flourish to the inauguration of the six new sailboats. At Weibel Scientific we are delighted to be sponsoring this project that will train new, ambitious yachtsmen, and help them reach their goals, ” says Erik Tingleff Larsen, Weibel Scientific’s Chairman of the Board, himself an avid yachtsman.
Through the years, the Royal Danish Yacht Club has fostered many Danish yachtsmen that have had success in The Olympic Games, America’s Cup, The World Cup and other international competitions.
The sponsorship from Weibel Scientific has supported the purchase of the fast J-80 sailboats that are now in use at the club.
